Gabe Newel does Reddit AMA, is Asked One Question

Following in the footsteps of President Obama, Gabe Newel President of Valve decided to do a reddit “Ask Me Anything” to try and drum up publicity for the recently released Counter Strike: Global Offensive and the upcoming DOTA 2. However, far from the reaction whereby he was expecting to receive intriguing and thoughtful questions he simply got asked one question by over 4 million users:

“Where is Half Life 2: Episode 3?”

The question, which ended up becoming the entire front page of Reddit, has plagued the head of Valve ever since they released Half Life 2: Episode 2.

“It’s driving me slowly mad!” said Mr Newell in a public breakdown. “We’re working on it, OK?! We don’t know when it’ll be done! We’re trying to make it as good as we can, because you want that! Please stop asking me! PLEASE! I DON’T KNOW, OK? I DON’T KNOW!” Mr Newell then wept for a solid 2 hours before he collapsed from dehydration.

The reaction has caused fans to reconsider their actions towards Gabe whenever he make a public appearance.

We spoke to one valve fan (namely Cieran Douglass of Pixel Grater fame) and he said in a frank and honest interview “We had no idea it was doing this to him, we kind of assumed he just didn’t care or found it funny or something. We had no idea it was going to break to poor guy. Makes me feel guilty for all those hilarious ironic death threats I sent him through the mail.”
