The internet was aghast the other day when a trailer for the long forgotten blockbuster Bioshock Infinite was released by the supposedly hibernating Irrational Games Studios. Minutes after the release of the trailer the internet suddenly all became very excited for something that had long been forgotten.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m cautious, we all remember Duke Nukem Forever,” said one Redditor. “But my god, this game looks amazing. My only major concern is that it’ll try and crowbar in a multiplayer mode that… they cancelled the multiplayer? Oh, right, yeah but I bet they do a dodgy WiiU port and fuck it up with awful motion contro- they aren’t doing a WiiU version either? It’s just a big, awesome FPS adventure with an original aesthetic and kickass premise? What is this, the 90s? I can’t wait!”
The sudden reminder that Bioshock Infinite exists has suddenly made other upcoming titles, such as Halo 4, Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Playstation Mega Smash Super Bash Peanuts Party featuring The All Stars 2k12 seem far less exciting. This shift against the current Q4 line-up hype has lead to some PR people making idle threats against 2K and Irrational games.
“It wasn’t enough to have Borderlands 2 be a surprise smash was it?” said an anonymous Bobby Kotick. “You had to go play with fire. Well let’s just say we have more than two developers and come February we might just have a Modern Warfare 4 ready to go. Don’t start what you can’t finish 2K…”
I heard a rumor that the PC version is going to be FOV-locked at 120 aka Quake Pro.
From the press release: “We know that small FOV is something that companies like EA tend to do. Most gamers cry for an FOV-slider of some sort but once they get it 95% of gamers, according to my sources at Conservapedia, just change it to Quake Pro anyway! We know that gamers will be very pleased to hear that we’ve been doing our research. We definitely aren’t anything like EA. Like seriously, nothing like it. We don’t even know what an “EA” is.”
